Procedure for logging in to Goddard’s FTP site will vary depending on which browser is used, please read below for detailed instructions on how to log in with your particular browser. If you continue to have trouble, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Microsoft Internet ExplorerAfter clicking the “FTP Login” link you will be prompted to enter your username and password in a window similar to the one shown below:
You will then recieve a page like the one shown below instructing you to open the site in Windows Explorer.
In order to open the site in Windows Explorer, please click the button in your browser labelled “Page”. This will open a menu and you should click on the menu item “Open FTP site in Windows Explorer” as shown:
You will then recieve an additional prompt to enter the username and password that you have been given:
A new window will now be opened and you will see the files you are expecting. You will have the ability to drag and drop files or copy and paste them to your local computer. If you are uploading files please drag and drop the file(s) into this window.
Mozilla Firefox Mozilla Firefox requires a free add-on to the software in able to view and interact with FTP sites.
After installing the add-on, open it using the “Tools” menu in Firefox. Select the option to “Quick Connect” in the FireFTP add-on and you will be given the login screen below. You will need to enter the FTP address (ftp.goddardtech.com)as shown below, as well as the username and password you have been given.
Upon login, you will be shown the contents of the FTP site on the right hand side of your screen. You will have access to upload and download files freely, either by drag-and-drop or by browsing the local file location on the left hand side of the screen and double-clicking the file to either upload or download. Other FTP Client SoftwareMany other FTP clients are available and will work to access GTI’s FTP site. Below is a screen shot of a free FTP client called “FileZilla”. In order to login to the site, you will be required to supply the ftp address (ftp.goddardtech.com) as well as the username and password you have been provided by Goddard Technologies. Click “Connect” and you will have access to upload and download files by the process dictated by your FTP client software. Most of today’s clients support the drag-and-drop method.
