Goddard Technologies, Inc. Supports HEI with Developement of "DNA Killer"
Beverly, MA (Product Design & Development, January 2010) – Goddard Technologies, Inc. (GTI) supported H.E.I. in the mechanical development of the "DNA Killer" as seen on the cover of Product Design & Development in January 2010.
As HEI moved
forward to take
the Sterilray off of
a bench top and put
it on an operator’s back,
they turned to the design team
at Beverly, MA-based Goddard
Technologies (GTI).
"We were brought on early by HEI, when it
was only a bench-top unit that they had developed
in their lab," says Ken Beaudoin, GTI
director of sales and marketing. "It was just a
proof of concept, and it was used primarily in
a lab environment to prove that it could have
the killing effect. HEI approached us to make
a product that was transportable and portable
in a backpack and hand-wand application."
One of the biggest issues GTI faced was
that the unit had to generate a high level of
voltage in order for it to perform the killing
effect. Safety factors were also involved to
ensure that the device operator was protected. "Safety was first and foremost," says Beaudoin. "We didn’t want to have the operator exposed
to killing their own DNA while they were
using it." Some of the "safety bells and whistles" built
into the unit are similar to those of power
tools on the market today.

By hitting its primary milestone, RevMed satisfies its previously announced commitment to begin production in Q4 '09. It also stays on pace to meet its Q2 '10 sales launch goal and $14.8 million 2010 revenue projection.
"After years in developing what we believe is the world's best safety syringe, we are extremely pleased to announce that the plan is now reality -- we have launched the mass manufacturing process for the RevVac safety syringe," stated Revolutions Medical CTO Richard Theriault. "This constitutes the next step toward full scale high volume production and commercialization. With this first phase we will 1) provide market-ready samples and 2) complete the steps necessary to ensure ultimate delivery of a high quality, high volume manufacturing solution. We have been working closely with the team at Goddard Technologies (www.goddardtech.com) -- the group responsible for the recent crucial product refinements -- towards this, our primary pre-sales milestone. We remain precisely on pace with our stated goals, and we can now demonstrate tangible progress toward bringing the much-anticipated RevVac to market in Q2 '10."
Andrew Goddard, President of Goddard Technologies, stated, "We are pleased to be working with Revolutions Medical on the first phase of the RevVac Safety Syringe mass manufacturing process. The RevVac design is unique and elegant as an easy to use, single-handed vacuum safety syringe. That we could contribute to a product of such high caliber is a source of great pride for Goddard Technologies."

09.09.09 Goddard Technologies Supports the Development of "The Beatles Rock Band" Guitar Equipment
View Article
Beverly, MA (September 9, 2009) – Goddard Technologies, Inc. (GTI), has supported Harmonix Music Systems with the design and development of the three guitars used in the latest "The Beatles Rock Band" game launched 09/09/09.
Our team worked closely with the talented and creative team at Harmonix Music to absorb their design intent for the new equipment and also the original "Rock Band" guitar equipment designs. Our designers and engineers then began work to create robust and stable designs that were production ready.
Our team facilitated the program, which included multiple rounds of prototypes, both working and non-working, while maintaining a very aggressive timeline to allow for production efforts and the eventual on schedule launch 09/09/09.
This program highlights the capabilities of the team at GTI and once again proves it is truly "Your Product - Our Expertise".
06.29.09 Goddard Technologies Supports the Development of Symphonix Controller System

Beverly, MA (June 29, 2009) – Goddard Technologies, Inc., a leading product design and development firm for medical, consumer, industrial and military products, is proud to have supported the development of the Symphonix controller system.
GTI was tasked with creating a fresh new design for a controller station to replace the old Extrol equipment. The main tasks were that the designs had to be ergonomic and user friendly while being rugged and durable for its operating environment. Significant human factors were incorporated into the designs so the operators would have maximum visibility while also allowing easy access to major control equipment contained within the structure.
The team at GTI worked closely with the client team at Gloucester Engineering to incorporate low cost, fast to production designs that maintained the overall product family branding.

Beverly, MA (June 25, 2009) – Goddard Technologies, Inc. (GTI), a leading product design and development firm for medical, consumer, industrial and military products, is proud to have supported the design and development of a patented self-power generating dog leash for Fido Fashions, Inc.
The GTI design team was responsible for managing the development of all aspects of the three sized leash assemblies. Activities included Industrial Design ideation, Mechanical Engineering and Design of all casings and mechanisms, injection molded plastics design and electronics development including power generation qualification and testing.
The team at GTI paid close attention to meeting the client’s goals designing for the correct fabrication process dictated by budgeting and annual volume projections. Structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) review of all inner mechanisms was performed to ensure durability and functionality of key mechanism components.

06.25.09 Goddard Technologies Adds In-House Rapid Prototyping Capability with Fused Deposition Model (FDM) Printer
View Article
Beverly, MA (June 25, 2009) – Goddard Technologies, Inc. (GTI), has added another core service of in-house rapid prototyping.
In today’s market, it is critical to be able to provide clients with ways to validate product designs. Now, we can utilize our fused deposition model (FDM) printer to create a physical prototype and have it ready for a design review the next day.
Not only are these rapid prototypes worthwhile to clients, but as a design team, they are invaluable to prove our designs functionality. Quite often we make FDM models of our designs to ensure operation, strength, movements, etc. Using a high strength blend of ABS, the FDM prototypes are good for creating working units in a rapid fashion.
Available to clients and industry design partners who may want to make prototypes for their teams, for rapid prototype quotes, you can send us an email to prototypes@goddardtech.com. We will quickly examine the part needs and return a timely quote.
