Bringing Art to Life: Goddard Technologies Supports Express Yourself
When Andy Goddard founded Goddard Technologies, he knew the value of community support. As he grew the company over nearly three decades, his dedication to giving back to the community grew as well. Located in the heart of the Cummings Center in Beverly, Massachusetts, Goddard’s East Coast office supports the work of Express Yourself, our Cummings Center neighbor. Express Yourself, an arts immersion program for Massachusetts children, is a healing path for young individuals facing mental and behavioral health challenges.
“Each year, youth and artists collaborate to create artwork inspired by a specific theme, brought to life through weekly art projects,” said Aleah Gates, administrator and artist at Express Yourself. “In our studio and residential treatment programs, youth explore visual arts and performance set design using various materials, building a sense of community and culture.”
This year, the children at Express Yourself created an exhibition of art called “EXYO Planet,” which was previously featured at a 30th-anniversary performance at the Wang Theater in Boston. The artwork, symbolizing a world of harmony, now proudly and colorfully decorates the Goddard East office, reminding us all to shoot for the stars.
Express Yourself believes in “the transformative power of the arts. Youth discover powerful tools for self-expression, uncover inner strength, and forge deeper connections with others,” said Gates. Goddard Technologies shares that belief and is proud to support Express Yourself’s mission.
