Senior Mechanical Engineer

Goddard is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in product development, mechanical design and engineering to join our team in Beverly, MA.

In this role, we will ask you to:

  1.  Lead, advise and assist in the design and execution of all projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time submission of deliverables.
  2.  Work with teams to create mechanical concepts for overall packaging strategies, mechanisms, and parts -all while balancing function, appearance, form and budgetary requirements.
  3.  Work independently with clients or as a lead/team member on larger projects.
  4.  Be a positive and success-oriented individual who is familiar with the latest development/production and rapid-prototype methodologies.
  5.  Manage and facilitate client interactions with clear communication as it relates to deliverables, design reviews and deadlines.
  6.  Work with team members to resolve conflicts among resources and between clients and engineering teams.
  7.  Remain apprised of the progress of certain projects, paying particular attention to any developing problems, and participate in major problem resolutions.
  8.  Communicate to senior management any significant deviations from project plans.
  9.  Coordinate internal team staffing and budget requirements for projects.
  10.   Travel as-needed (valid driver’s license and vehicle required).
  11.   Keep all privileged information private and confidential.
  12.   Be proficient with the latest version of SolidWorks CAD package.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Goddard is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with roughly 3-5 years of experience in product development, mechanical design and engineering to join our team in Beverly, MA.

In this role, we will ask you to:

  1.  Work with a team to design and test mechanical concepts for a wide range of products, encompassing core functional mechanisms, exterior parts, and packaging – all while balancing function, appearance and budgetary requirements.
  2.  Work with clients independently or as a team member on larger projects.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Goddard is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join the new electrical engineering team in our Beverly, MA office.

In this role, we will ask you to:

  1. Lead research, development, design, test and integration of electronic and electro-mechanical efforts for medical products, consumer products and commercial equipment.
  2.  Be a mentor to associate engineers.
  3. Eagerly take on new challenges and work independently.
  4. Assist in defining the culture for Goddard’s electrical engineering team.
  5. Practice clear and direct communication with management and customers.
  6. Manage tasks for multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Define priorities with limited guidance according to program objectives.
  8. Lead customer meetings to obtain detailed information related to project requirements.
  9. Identify problems and formulate solutions, collect data and develop test procedures to prove or dis-prove failures and solutions.
  10. Perform formal release of documentation in support of manufacturing, meeting quality and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
  11. Assist in writing proposals, including development of tasks and costs.
  12. Travel as-needed (valid driver’s license and vehicle required).

  1. Interfacing with customers and leading customer meetings
  2. Managing requirements and troubleshooting complex issues

Full Time - Beverly, MA Expand

Electromechanical Technician

Goddard is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to join our team in Beverly, MA. This position is a good fit for candidates with a proven aptitude for qualifying, assembling and testing mechanical and electrical components.

In this role, we will ask you to:

  1.  Oversee our 3D printing and machine shop, working closely with our engineering team to provide exceptional service for our clients.
  2.  Build and test assemblies and subcomponents for engineering and industrial design groups following manufacturing process documentation.
  3.  Assemble and repair precision electromechanical parts, assemblies and equipment using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments and test equipment.
  4.  Conduct tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  5.  Calibrate assembly tooling to meet operational tolerances/specifications.
  6.  Support new product prototype builds as needed.
  7.  Maintain accurate records to ensure reliability of Device History Records and quality documents.
  8.  Maintain shop space and manage orders of replacement tools/materials as needed.
  9.  Perform all work following quality standards and safety procedures.
  10.  Travel as-needed (valid driver’s license and vehicle required)

What you will need to be successful in this role: 

  1.  High school diploma with 3-5 years experience in electromechanical assembly.
  2.  Basic use of a multimeter, DC power supplies, Loctite/EFD dispensing units and machine shop equipment.
  3.  Basic understanding of ESD.
  4.  Ability to solder electrical components.
  5.  Basic computer skills – Solidworks experience a plus.
  6.  Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  7.  Experience with manual milling and turning.
  8.  Comfort with shop tools to repair and modify prototypes.
  9.  Experience with panels, pulleys, switching mechanisms, motors, power supplies, pneumatic valves and actuators.
  10.  Ability to read and understand drawings / BOMs.
