Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growing profitable revenue by securing new business; priorities include new product development and pilot/low volume manufacturing. General Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify, and engage new prospects; convert prospects to qualified leads; close new business.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and a CRM platform (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).

Prinicpal Firmware Engineer

While working with Goddard Technologies as a Principal Firmware Engineer, you will be held accountable to be able to conduct yourself in the manners listed below and refine any needed skills to efficiently cover all responsibilities. Ideal candidate should possess a broad understanding of the software landscape and the desire to keep up with the changes in technology. The ability to define software architecture for a given system and participate in the definition of the hardware architecture.

You are expected to:

You should be technically familiar and comfortable with:

  • Wireless technology – Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, LoRa and other low power wireless standards. Familiarity with cellular technologies, particularly 4G technologies targeting IoT
  • Microcontrollers – Experience in designing microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems including ARM Cortex M series microcontrollers. C-programming expertise desired.
  • Low power – Ability to design a system to minimize power consumption for portable battery-operated devices.
  • Cloud – Familiarity with connecting devices to the cloud and issues related to security such as authentication and encryption. Familiarity with protocols such as MQTT is helpful as is knowledge of JavaScript and JSON.
  • Sensors – Familiarity with various sensor types including MEMS sensors and ability to design them into a system.
  • GPS – Familiarity with GPS technology and incorporating GPS capability into a product.

Principal Human Factors Engineer

Goddard is seeking a Principal Human Factor Engineer with roughly 10-15 years of experience in product development of medical products to join our team in Beverly, MA or San Diego, CA. This role will play a key part in the design, development, use testing, documentation, and launch of Goddard’s clients’ products. You will lead the human factors & usability engineering activities for new product development programs and drive usability improvements for current products, collaborating with a diverse team of product development specialists and working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this role, we will ask you to:

Be the Voice of the Patient/Customer

  • Serve as a patient / customer advocate in helping Goddard realize its vision for delivering game-changing products that are safe & effective, easy to use, not prone to use error, and provide user satisfaction; ultimately supporting Goddard’s goal of extremely low burden of care.

Project Manager

Goddard is seeking a Project Manager to join our Beverly, Massachusetts team. 5+ years of relevant experience in consumer product development, diagnostics development, and/or medical equipment and device development or equivalent, and 3+ years of project management experience preferred. As a project manager, you will be expected to interface with both the internal team as well as the project team and client.

Internally, you will be expected to perform the following activity:

1. Deliver profitable project outcomes for Goddard through effective project management.

  • Own the project’s vision.
  • Track budget usage and project progress.
  • Generate dashboards and/or presentations to present to internal management and/or the client.
  • Maintain a strong and open relationship with the client.
  • Ensure compliance of program with Goddard Quality Management System, as required.

2. Work with Program Management to:

  • Define project structure for time entry.
  • Identify methods of capturing out of scope, or other cost over runs.
  • Present weekly updates on projects (dashboard).
  • Identify Necessary Resource adjustments, either upwards or downwards.
  • Update and maintain the Goddard Bookings system.
  • Identify new opportunities to improve overall project management capabilities at Goddard.
  • Report back on Goddard architectures or systems which may be deficient or contribute to labor inefficiencies.

3. Identify new business opportunities with existing clients.

  • Work with client to understand, refine, and agree on the new project requirements.
  • Work with the Business Development, and Directors of Program Management to determine resources, effort, and time needed to complete a project or how to provide consultation support on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with the Goddard business development team to generate proposals.
  • Present proposals to client.

4. Support new business/client proposal creation (PAC Lead)

  • Rapidly come up to speed on the project based on RFP documentation.
  • Work with the BD team, as well as the client to understand, refine, and agree on the project requirements.
  • Work with the Business Development, and Directors of Program Management to determine resources, effort, and time needed to complete a project or how to provide consultation support on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with the Goddard business development team to generate proposals.
  • Present proposals to existing clients.

When working with the project team and client you will be expected to perform the following:

1. Provide informed, detailed guidance to clients looking for Goddard’s leadership and experience in product development. Communicate clearly with the client and empower the client with data to help them make confident, prudent decisions throughout the product development process.

2. Kick off Projects.

  • Work with Program Management to identify resources, coordinate project kickoff meetings with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Onboard the assigned project team.
  • Set up communication channels and cadence with the client.

3. Project Management

  • Motivate and manage individual team members as well as the team dynamic.
  • Follow up all meeting and pertinent conversations with notes shared to all stakeholders.
  • Track and maintain project tasks/objectives to ensure the project is progressing as expected. Manage project leads: Generate schedules, tasks, and assign work to the team; Ensure project leads are properly assigning or performing expected tasks.
  • Lead project postmortem/lessons learned activity.
  • Periodically present to the company project progress during the company meeting.
  • Coordinate all aspects of program activities between the client and Goddard engineering, ID, quality, regulatory, testing, documentation, etc.
  • Responsible for the completion of all deliverables per proposal.

4. Other Responsibilities

  • At times, required to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Program/Project Managing:

  • Perform research and discovery of certain potential clients’ history and background, establishing contact through cold calling or event attendance.

Office Management:

You will get to work with various prototypes, fixtures, and testing equipment built from the ground up. Overseeing our 3D printing and machine shop, you will be responsible for working closely with our engineering team to provide exceptional services and solutions for our clients. In this role, we will ask you to:

  • Build and test assemblies and subcomponents for Engineering and Industrial Design groups following manufacturing process documentation.
  • Assemble and repair precision electromechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, test equipment.
  • Have experience with panels, pulleys, switching mechanisms, motors, power supplies, pneumatic valves, and actuators.
  • Conduct, under direction, tests, and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Calibrate assembly tooling to meet operational tolerances/specifications.
  • Support new product prototype builds as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure Device History Records (DHR) and quality documents are accurate when required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform all work following quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Able to use a computer with Microsoft or google based software.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain our various 3d printers.

  • Basic understanding and use of a multimeter, DC power supplies, Loctite/EFD dispensing units, and machine shop equipment (Milling and Lathe).
