Senior Employee Experience Specialist
Goddard Technologies, Inc is hiring an Senior Employee Experience Specialist who will own employee engagement and inclusion for the entire life cycle of an employee (from orientation through offboarding). This role will promote positive employee relations through a variety of initiatives such as surveys, employee one-on one connections and recognition programs.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Identify trends and areas of employee concern and partner with management to provide guidance and actionable feedback in enhancing the employee experience.
- Remain aware of any internal challenges and issues between clients and staff and convey to management or appropriate parties as necessary.
- Assist in the creation of employees’ career goals that align with business objectives. In conjunction with employees’ manager, create a path to achieving those goals.
- Advocate for the employees, building a culture where everyone feels like they belong.
- When conflict arises, work with employees towards a solution to the problem or dispute in a way that is productive.
- Learn, refine, and participate in performance management processes (annual reviews).
- Onboard new hires and acclimate them to the corporate culture and work environment.

- Provide insight, advice, and coaching to managers and other team members on HR-related topics.
Culture Building:

- Head up special employee engagement projects such employee appreciation, social events, team building and rewards programs.

Training:
- Work with managers to determine employee skills gaps and support what training is required to close the gaps.

Senior Human Factors Engineer
Goddard is seeking a Senior Human Factor Engineer with roughly 5-10 years of experience in product development of medical products to join our team in Beverly, MA. This role will play a key part in the design, development, use testing, documentation, and launch of Goddard’s clients’ products. You will take part in human factors & usability engineering activities for new product development programs and contribute to usability improvements for current products, collaborating with a diverse team of product development specialists and working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Goddard products integrate mechanical, electrical, software, and fluidic elements, and industrial design to deliver thoughtful, elegant product solutions.
In this role, we will ask you to:
- Be the Voice of the Patient/Customer
- Serve as a patient / customer advocate in helping Goddard realize its vision for delivering game-changing products that are safe & effective, easy to use, not prone to use error, and provide user satisfaction; ultimately supporting Goddard’s goal of extremely low burden of care.
- Support product management and product engineering personnel in establishing ergonomic, human factors (HF), and usability-related requirements for new products and product line extensions.
- Represent the human factors/usability engineering function on core teams for small to large sized projects.
- Advocate the human-centered design approach end-to-end in product development.
- Implement a variety of HFE research methods, such as task analysis, PCA, time/motion study, user preference studies, ethnographic research, heuristic analysis, root cause analysis, post-market data analysis and usability testing.

- Be flexible with a range of product interfaces from software GUIs, hardware/fluid connectors to workstations, and inform/support creation of necessary prototypes for testing these with users (Figma, Adobe xD, Sketch, Axure, paper prototypes, model making, Solidworks CAD, Microsoft and Google products etc.)
- Collaborate with internal & external parties in planning, structuring, recruiting for, and executing formative and summative usability evaluations.
- Create and leverage uFMEAs to inform design; collaborating with systems engineering in identifying intended users and use environments, as well as potential use-related hazards; determine product use cases and identify critical user tasks, errors and design mitigations.

Senior Design Quality Engineer
We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join our Quality team. This role will provide pre-market product development Quality Engineering support to ensure delivery of highest quality products to the customer. The Senior Design Quality Engineer develops, establishes, and maintains quality engineering methodologies, systems, and practices which meet Goddard’s, customer, and regulatory requirements. It serves as a Quality representative to improve awareness, visibility, communication on quality initiatives to support departmental, functional, and corporate quality goals and priorities.
The Senior Design Quality Engineer position is responsible for various design quality engineering functions in support of product development on Medical Device Development, such as leading Risk Management activities, collaborating with development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, guiding teams through Design Controls, Design Verification and Validation, Submission Strategy and ensuring compliance to the Quality Management System.
In this role, we will ask you to:
- Provide support of at all stages of Product Development
- Understand and help implement global processes of the QMS related to Design Controls
- Work with product development teams and other QEs to assure compliance to the QMS
- Responsible for the Authoring, Review and Approval of protocols and reports, SOPs and Master Documents pertaining to Research and Development activities and its compliance per product
- Ensure FDA and other regulatory knowledge and experience is applied to risk assessments

- In depth familiarity with 21 CFR820, ISO 9001/ISO 13485 and the industry quality requirements associated with product design & development as well as product risk management (ISO 14971)
- >5 years in a manufacturing environment preferred
- 5 years minimum hands-on working knowledge of the FDA QSR and ISO 13485 is required
- Experience with test methods and standards for the design, verification, and validation of medical device products
- Experience in risk management, and risk assessment techniques, such as FMEA, fault tree analysis, 5 Why’s, Fishbone analysis, etc.
- Root cause analysis experience preferred
- Above average math skills (sound knowledge in both statistics and calculus)

Electromechanical Technician (EMT)
Goddard is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to join our team. This position will be a great fit for candidates with a proven aptitude for qualifying, assembling, and testing mechanical and electrical components.
You will get to work with various prototypes, fixtures, and testing equipment built from the ground up. Our clients come from diverse industries: Consumer Products, Medical devices, industrial automation, and robotics. Overseeing our 3D printing and machine shop, you will be responsible for working closely with our engineering team to provide exceptional services and solutions for our clients. Depending on our client’s needs, work could be performed at our office or at our client locations in the Boston or greater Boston area.
In this role, we will ask you to:
- Build and test assemblies and subcomponents for Engineering and Industrial Design groups following manufacturing process documentation.
- Assemble and repair precision electromechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, test equipment.
- Have experience with panels, pulleys, switching mechanisms, motors, power supplies, pneumatic valves, and actuators.
- Conduct, under direction, tests, and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Calibrate assembly tooling to meet operational tolerances/specifications.
- Support new product prototype builds as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure Device History Records (DHR) and quality documents are accurate when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Perform all work following quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Able to use a computer with Microsoft or google based software.
- Troubleshoot and maintain our various 3d printers.
- Quote build and delivery 3d printed parts for internal build requests.
- Create or modify basic parts using a mill, lathe, and other shop tools.

- High School Diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, medical device manufacturing a plus.
- Must have hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Must have a basic understanding of electronics/electricity.
- Basic understanding and use of a multimeter, DC power supplies, Loctite/EFD dispensing units, and machine shop equipment (Milling and Lathe).
- Must have a basic understanding of ESD.
- Able to solder electrical components.
- Ability to work with minimal components; this role requires fine motor skills and dexterity.
- Must demonstrate basic computer skills, MS Word, and Excel. (Preferred candidates to have experience operating Solidworks.)

CAD Operator
Goddard is seeking a highly motived CAD Operator, to successfully develop technical drawings of products using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks or Creo, apply Design Controls to the documentation of Engineering outputs while working alongside our Quality and Engineering departments. Primary areas of operation will relate to the documentation of 2D Engineering drawings and editing of 3D CAD native files (in SolidWorks or Creo), make revisions and obtain approval from clients and internal leadership, maintain CAD and drawing databases, and prepare supporting documentation relating to designs. Familiarity with various manufacturing and assembly methods (sheet metal, milling, welding, injection molding) is beneficial. An ability to generate documentation in the areas of electrical engineering schematic capture, other electrical documentation is a strong plus.
In this role, we will ask you to:
- Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis.
- Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing based on 3D CAD.
- Maintain native 2D and 3D engineering data within PDM.
- Create and maintain design specifications, documentation, vendor, purchasing, and material lists.
- Work with Engineers to estimate material and production costs for designs.
- Support supply chain with vendor documentation and communicate directly with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers.
- Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, best practices, and other regulations.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 standard.
- Create and support Engineers to author and implement change orders within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

Controls Engineer
Goddard is seeking a Controls Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in controls engineering, PLC programming, or related field to join our team in Beverly, MA.
In this role, we will ask you to:
- Review current design documentation, including requirements, schematics, firmware, PLC code and cabinet designs.
- Architect control systems specifying required PLC components, cabin design and wiring schematics.
- Write ECO to update design documentation.
- Ensure all designs are in compliance with all relevant safety standards, including but not limited to UL and IEC.
- Support software testing and verification.
- Perform continuous improvement, design optimization, and simplification of components.
- Debug existing systems to find the root cause of failures.
- Complete design details for systems, specify terminations, layout, and wire routing.
- Design and program PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley), using Codesys, ladder logic, or other standard formats.
- Support Program Management with schedule and cost updates.
- Calculate heat loads and design passive/active cooling schemes.

About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
- 4 -6 years of experience in controls engineering, PLC programming, or related field.
- Knowledge of E-Plan, SolidWorks Electrical and Microsoft Suite.
- Codesys experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Represent yourself professionally in client meetings and at client sites.
