Goddard stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement
To the engineers, designers, and innovators in our community:
Goddard stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and those who seek to advance justice for the Black community in the face of racial violence and police brutality.
We are outraged by the senseless deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others. Their lives were snuffed out by a system that deemed them less than their fellow citizens merely due to the color of their skin. We are appalled by the violence playing out across the country, largely aimed at stifling free speech among peaceful protestors.
Simultaneously, we are heartened to see so many people speaking out about the need for systemic change and justice. Millions of people around the world are speaking out about their own experiences with racism and discrimination. As innovators, we know firsthand the power that comes from people joining forces and working together to solve difficult problems.
At Goddard, we pledge to do our part in creating a more equitable and just world.
We are committed to creating a workplace culture that outright rejects racism, harassment and discrimination.
We are committed to lifting up the voices and work of Black innovators in the engineering and design communities.
We are committed to learning about our own ignorance and biases, no matter how uncomfortable that process may be.
We are committed to being a part of the solution.
To start, Goddard has donated $3,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. We encourage our friends, colleagues and professional collaborators to donate their time or money in an effort to create meaningful change.
